How Many Pedophiles Live In Your Neighborhood?

Be vigilant about protecting your children. Child predators are all around, some have been caught and are in the sex offenders registry. But MANY have not been caught yet. (Be sure and check the sex offenders registry often) You can still protect your children even though not all pedophiles in your area have been caught and listed.

But you can be sure of one thing, there ARE child predators nearby. So be on guard!!

Be aware of anyone who seems to show an unusual interest in your child. Child predators usually work very closely with children and have the trust of the child’s parents. Don’t make this mistake.

Pedophiles also tend get involved in child-like activities that are simply not age appropriate. A friend of mine once told me a story about when she was a pre-adolescent. She and her neighborhood friends would play hide and seek………normal enough.

The abnormal part was when her friend’s father would play hide and seek with them. Sure enough this friend of mine said he would always seek her out to take advantage of her each time he participated.

Check the sex offenders registery for your locality often. But again this doesn’t rule out the fact that there are MANY child predators that have not be caught. Pay close attention to your child’s activities and who they are spending time with.

The Profile of a pedophile includes but is not limited to the following characteristics:

  • Often male and over 30.
  • Single and/or with few friends in his age group.
  • If married, the relationship is more “platonic” with minimal sexual relations.
  • He is often vague about time gaps in employment which may indicate job hopping for questionable reasons or possibly a history of incarceration.
  • Many times child predators will seek out a single parent in order to get close to their children. Once inside the home, they have many opportunities to manipulate the children. If the child’s parent works, it offers the pedophile the privacy and opportunity to abuse the child.

But always remember that a pedophile can be anyone — Any age, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, non-professional or professional, and of any race. (It can even be a religious leader….these are the most dangerous because they automatically have people’s trust)

In general Pedophiles demonstrate consistent characteristics, but these are merely indicators and it should not be assumed that individuals with these characteristics are pedophiles. But being aware of these characteristics along with questionable or abnormal behavior can be used as an alert that someone may be a pedophile.

Always know who has access to your kids and never allow any adult to have time alone with any of your children.
